Our perception of the world around us is often controlled by our subconscious mind

Be-ing in the now is a concept that has been around for thousands of years, but there are very few people who truly know what it means. Most often, we as people strive to be anywhere but here and now. We usually have a master plan for our future and hope to achieve greatness. While in this state of becoming, we forget that in order to become great we must work towards achieving greatness. Achieving greatness sometimes requires our best focus & commitment from here and now.

Have you noticed that when you’re thinking about your future, you lose some confidence? That’s because we can’t control our future, so we are making up stories. These might be good stories but they won’t help us become more confident. Confidence is found in the here and now, so the best way to achieve confidence is to take action in the present moment.

Have you ever thought to yourself that if you had more confidence in real life, then you’d crush it? Odds are you have. This reflects the state of society. We’re a people fixated on the future, past, or some fantastical idea of what could be. It’s so pervasive that we do it without questioning it. You might believe that this is the solution to your confidence level. I’m here to tell you instead, the cure for a lack of confidence is not how long you’ve been around; it’s the now.

Our perception of the world around us is often controlled by our subconscious mind. Your brain automatically filters the reality, and takes control of the perception of how we see and experience life around us. The experienced neurologist Dr. Byron Katie calls this “the movie in your mind”. This reality consists of negative thoughts, fears, doubts and worries. It’s no wonder why we often feel stuck in our lives – with issues like lack of self-confidence, depression or problems with relationships/other people. It seems like we’re helpless to make a change. But are we really?

Yesterday is gone, and you can’t do anything about it. Same goes for the day before — it’s already gone. And the day before that. As in…you can’t go back in time and change things. And even if you could go back, would you actually want to? Of course not. So let’s get rid of that idea once and for all. The only time you have available to live your life is this moment right now . Once it passes and is gone for good, you won’t get another chance.

The only place where we make a difference is in the now. That is why being fully in it is where we will discover the confidence we need to act with power.
